Is WorkAxle a biometric attendance system?
Facial recognition is the biometric method WorkAxle uses, at the kiosk and alongside beacon verification. It is configurable, on by default for kiosk deployments, and it ties the punch to a face instead of a PIN or a badge. WorkAxle does not offer fingerprint capture, so within biometric time and attendance software it is specifically a facial recognition attendance system, one method among five configured per company.
How do time clock rounding rules work?
Rounding increments and methods are configurable and matched to the jurisdiction each group falls under. In the United States, 29 CFR 785.48, titled “Use of time clocks,” addresses the practice directly: rounding “will be accepted, provided that it is used in such a manner that it will not result, over a period of time, in failure to compensate the employees properly for all the time they have actually worked” (Code of Federal Regulations, 2025 edition, revised as of July 1, 2025). The increments are set in the rule engine that enforces jurisdiction rules.
