WorkAxle is a workforce management platform that covers the full operational cycle: demand forecasting, scheduling and rostering, time & attendance, leave and absence, compliance enforcement, and payroll export in one connected system. It sits between your HR system and your payroll system, running the operational layer they both leave open, and it is built for enterprises with multi-jurisdiction labor laws, union agreements, and industry-specific regulations.

Forecasting to payroll.
One platform.
One source of truth.

Most WFM tools cover one stage of the cycle and hand the rest to a spreadsheet. WorkAxle covers all of it: forecasting through scheduling, time capture, compliance, and payroll export, on connected data. The rules are enforced at every step, and the logic stays in your hands instead of a vendor's backlog. Built for multiple CBAs within one organization.

Modular by design. Pick what you need. Each module solves a specific problem. Together they close the loop.

Forecasting & Optimization

View module →

You're either overstaffed and burning budget or understaffed and burning people. Without a forecast, next quarter's roster is a guess defended in a meeting.

Ingests your historical demand data. Tests multiple time-series models in parallel; your team selects the best fit per location. Every run lets our customers get tighter with their operations. The forecast feeds straight into scheduling at matching granularity.

A mathematical optimization solver builds compliant long-horizon seasonal rosters, weighing the demand forecast, your tunable staffing targets, CBA constraints, and shift rules at once. Change a parameter, re-run the solver, and compare the two outputs side by side.

Scheduling & Rostering

View module →

Multiple skill types, multiple union agreements within one organization, and a budget that won't flex. Building that schedule by hand takes days, and you are the compliance engine, holding every rule in your head and hoping you didn't miss one.

Generates draft schedules from the demand forecast and auto-assigns employees by skill, certification, availability, and labor rule. The rules are checked continuously during auto-assignment and again on every interactive edit a manager makes. The system builds the structure. Managers handle the edge cases.

It carries the cases most platforms hand back to you: split shifts, long rotational cycles, work-package-based scheduling, shift bidding, and prioritized call lists with full attempt tracking for union audit. One site can hold dozens of scheduling areas at once.

Time & Attendance

View module →

Buddy punching, missed clock-ins, rounding errors, time classified by hand. Every gap in the time data is money you can't account for and an exposure you can't defend in an audit.

Captures every clock-in with identity verification (facial recognition) and location validation (Bluetooth beacons, geofencing). Classifies overtime, premiums, and differentials automatically. Timecards build themselves, totaled by time type.

Beacon hardware confirms a person is physically on the assigned site before the punch counts, which closes off both buddy punching and GPS spoofing at the hardware level. Time classification runs on the same compliance engine that governs scheduling, so pay rules track labor law and CBA requirements without a second system to reconcile.

Compliance & Rule Engine

View module →

It's 10 AM. A certification expired. A rest-period rule was broken. A union clause was missed. You're fire-fighting compliance issues the system should have caught, because the rules live in your head instead of in the software.

You codify the rules once, labor laws, union agreements, certifications, overtime limits, rest periods, and the engine enforces them across scheduling, time capture, and assignment while the schedule is being built. A no-code visual rule builder lets you pick from a catalog, configure through guided forms, drag to reorder, and simulate the rule before you publish it.

This is the capability customers name first. The rule engine validates compliance at scheduling, at time classification, and at time evaluation, and it runs in the most demanding regulatory regions our customers operate in. When an effective-dated field changes, say a certification lapses, group membership recomputes on the next validation. Past periods can be recomputed too, with a full before/after audit trail.

Payroll Export

View module →

Every pay cycle, someone on your team spends hours pulling data, cross-checking it against schedules, applying overtime by hand, and reformatting it for the payroll system. Then they submit it and hope the numbers match.

Exports pre-classified time data straight to your payroll or accounting system. Overtime, premiums, and differentials are already calculated upstream. No re-entry, no reconciliation, every hour verified and classified before it arrives.

Payroll accuracy here is the output of everything upstream working. Time gets captured with identity and location verification, classified by automated pay rules, approved by a manager, and delivered pre-validated. By the time it reaches payroll, there is nothing left to reconcile.

Leave & Absence

View module →

Vacation, sick days, parental leave, and comp time, tracked by hand across multiple CBAs and jurisdictions. That means errors, compliance risk, and employees who can't see their own balances calling you to ask.

Handles multiple leave types and leave accruals, request, approve, and cancel flows, statutory holiday auto-grants, and calendar conflict and coverage management. It runs on the same compliance engine as scheduling and time.

Leave runs on the same rule engine that governs scheduling and time classification, so accrual rules, entitlements, and blackout periods follow each CBA and labor law on their own. One system covers the full employee lifecycle.

How the platform fits the stack you already run.

"Does it work with what we already have?" Ripping out the existing stack isn't realistic. WorkAxle connects through an API-first architecture, so your HRIS, payroll, and ERP stay exactly where they are.

Your questions, answered.

What is WorkAxle?

An enterprise workforce management platform covering demand forecasting, scheduling and rostering, time & attendance, leave and absence, compliance enforcement, and payroll export. Built for organizations with multi-jurisdiction labor laws, union agreements, and industry-specific regulations. Workday and SAP integrations. Deployed in production across multiple regions worldwide.

What industries does WorkAxle serve?

Industries where compliance complexity runs highest. Verticals with dedicated industry solutions: airport operations, public sector, retail, guarding/security, construction, port operations, healthcare, and manufacturing.

How is WorkAxle different from legacy WFM vendors?

WorkAxle is purpose-built for workforce management. It is a WFM specialist, where the legacy options are full-stack HR/payroll suites that added scheduling later. The configurable compliance engine handles multi-jurisdiction, multi-union complexity without scripting or months of training. We implement 4 to 5x faster than legacy systems. WorkAxle partners with your HR and payroll stack rather than competing with it.

How long does implementation take?

Enterprise deployments measure in months, not years. We implement 4 to 5x faster than legacy systems, and every client has reached positive ROI within the first few payroll runs. Less complex environments go faster with productized industry solutions.

Does WorkAxle replace our HRIS or payroll system?

No. WorkAxle sits between HR and payroll, handling scheduling, time capture, and compliance. Employee data flows in from your HRIS (Workday, SAP, Oracle); validated time data flows out to payroll. WorkAxle handles the complex middle that generic HR platforms can't.
